Motion was written with one thing in mind - practicality. It is written for around an advanced high-school level euphonium with an easy piano accompaniment. My goal was to write something both easy to prepare and interesting to listen to. It is in an ABA structure, with the A sections being triumphant happy and tonal while the B section is much more somber and slow. This piece was premiered at the Fall 2022 UCA Composers Forum Concert, with Aaron Rhodes on euphonium.
