Trenton Rhodes Music - Services
|
Below you will find more information about the
various services Rhodes provides.
Rhodes offers four distinct services: Private Piano Lessons,
Private Trumpet Lessons, Music Theory Tutoring, and services
as a composer and trumpet performer. |
|
Private Piano Lessons
Rhodes offers private piano lessons for students who are either 1) complete beginners of the instrument or 2) have a comparatively low level of experience and would like to improve their skills. Students must be children or adults who are ten (10) years or older by the time of instruction. Cost of the lessons will be $12 per 30-minutes of instruction, paid after each lesson. No payments up front for a specified amount of lessons will be accepted, unless worked out individually. In addition, costs of the book series Rhodes might use will need to be covered as each book is presented to the student. Cost of each book is $7.99. If you or your child is interested in lessons, then we will work together to set up a weekly day/time for lessons to meet.
At the very first lesson, Rhodes will evaluate the student's current level and where the student's interests lay. If he determines that the book series he uses will not be beneficial or desired by the student, then Rhodes might assign other materials to the student to be purchased outside of lessons. This will be worked out on a case-by-case basis. If the book series is to be used, then the books can be collected either outside of lessons or directly from Rhodes with an additional cost of $7.99. In addition to the piano assignments, Rhodes will also use his own materials to teach the student basic notation skills using worksheets he designs himself at no extra cost.

Private Trumpet Lessons
Rhodes offers private trumpet lessons for students who
are either 1) complete beginners of the instrument, 2) are
enrolled in a K-12 school band and would like to improve
their skills, or 3) have a comparatively low level of
experience and would like to improve their skills. Students
must be children or adults who are ten (10) years or older
by the time of instruction. For these lessons, the student
MUST own a fairly decent and working trumpet. Cost of the
lessons will be $12 per 30-minutes of instruction, paid
after each lesson. No payments up front for a specified
amount of lessons will be accepted, unless worked out
individually. If you or your child is interested in lessons,
then we will work together to set up a weekly day/time for
lessons to meet.
Trumpet lessons are completely tailored to the
individual. At the very first lesson, Rhodes will evaluate
the student's current level and where the student's
interests lay and assign materials accordingly. This means
that alternative materials will likely need to be purchased
outside of lessons. This will be worked out on a
case-by-case basis. In addition to the trumpet assignments,
if Rhodes decides it necessary he will also use his own
materials to teach the student basic notation skills using
worksheets he designs himself at no extra cost.

Music Theory Tutoring
Rhodes offers music theory tutoring to students who are
either 1) enrolled in a high school AP Music theory course
and would like some extra help, or 2) enrolled in a college
freshman Ear Training and/or Harmony course and would like
some extra help. Students must be enrolled in either of
these courses to be eligible for music theory tutoring.
Before sessions start, it is highly recommended that
students reach out to the teacher/professor first for help.
Cost of these sessions will be either $12 per 30-minutes of
instruction, or $24 per hour of instruction depending on the
necessity. The cost will need to be collected after each
lesson - no payments up front for a specified amount of
sessions will be accepted unless worked out individually. If
you or your child is interested in tutoring sessions, then
we will work together to set up a weekly day/time for
lessons to meet.
During these tutoring sessions, the assignments for
their AP Music Theory or freshman Harmony/Ear Training
course will need to be provided with permission from the
teacher/professor. If the teacher/professor prohibits the
assignments from being shared, then a description of the
content they are covering will need to be provided in order
for Rhodes to know where to help the student. Although not
required, it would be beneficial for a syllabus of the
course to be presented in order to give Rhodes an idea of
how to continue tutoring sessions if necessary. If needed,
Rhodes may assign other assignments from other materials to
further help the student understand the concept. This means
that alternative materials may need to be purchased outside
of tutoring sessions. These will be worked out on a
case-by-case basis.

If you are looking for something to perform, Rhodes has
already written for an extremely wide range of ensembles
that might do the trick. Rhodes has written for a wide range
