This work is my first piece for strictly percussion instruments. I wanted to really develop my percussion writing, as while I am very aware of the infinite amount of options percussionists have for different sounds, my mind just does not really think of them too much. Writing for just percussionists alone forced me to really think about writing idiomatically for percussionists (and in this case mallet percussionists), and I can only imagine that this will help my percussion parts in future large ensemble works.
